August 27, 2026 – High school students interested in becoming teachers will have an opportunity to explore the education profession during Millikin University’s annual Tomorrow’s Teachers Conference on October 19.
Hosted by Millikin’s School of Education, the conference gives prospective educators a hands-on look at teaching and what it’s like to study education at Millikin.
Students will participate in interactive sessions covering topics including innovative teaching approaches, STEAM, new technologies, special education, English as a Second Language and multicultural education.
The conference also allows students to connect with Millikin faculty, current education majors and education professionals while learning about classroom experiences and career opportunities.
Millikin says the event reflects its Performance Learning approach, giving students opportunities to learn through active, collaborative and real-world experiences.
School of Education Director Dr. Chris Cunnings says the conference is designed to provide practical, engaging and research-based learning opportunities while encouraging more students to consider teaching as a career.
