September 3, 2026 – The Decatur Area Arts Council is bringing back its fundraiser art class to benefit the WSOY Community Food Drive.
The event is scheduled for September 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. and will give participants the opportunity to create an original collage using cereal boxes and other food packaging, inspired by the work of American pop artist Michael Albert. Albert is known for his “Cerealism” artwork, vibrant, imaginative collages made from cereal boxes and other consumer packaging.
The class is open to all experience levels and will explore mixed media while turning everyday food packaging into artwork.
The cost is $30, or participants can bring a donation of nonperishable canned goods. All proceeds from the class will benefit the WSOY Community Food Drive, which supports local food pantries and families experiencing food insecurity throughout Macon County.
Participants will be able to take home their completed artwork.
