September 17, 2026 – Scouting America will host Cub Scout Discover Day Saturday, September 26, at Rock Springs Nature Center in Decatur.
The free, come-and-go event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to all area families, including those who are not currently involved in Scouting.
Families can participate in a variety of hands-on activities, including archery, slingshots, fishing, STEM projects, crafts, games and hiking.
“This event is about giving Decatur families an easy, no-pressure way to try Scouting activities firsthand,” said David Lane, Assistant Director of Field Service. “Families can come whenever it works for their schedule and stay as long as they’d like.”

Scouting America currently serves nearly 1,000 youth in the greater Decatur area and nearly 25,000 youth in the Greater St. Louis Area.
