September 22, 2026 – Millikin University will celebrate its 2026 Homecoming, “Forever Blue,” Oct. 2-4, bringing alumni, students, families, faculty, staff and friends together for a weekend of events and traditions during the university’s 125th anniversary year.
Homecoming activities begin Friday at noon with the opening of Big Blue HQ in the University Commons.
Friday’s events also include the annual Legacy of the Lamp ceremony for Millikin nursing students at 3 p.m., followed by the Millikin Alumni Awards dinner and program at 5:30 p.m. The evening continues with a Tabor alumni and faculty gathering at Decatur Brew Works from 7:30 to 10 p.m.
Saturday’s activities begin with the Black Alumni of Millikin’s Step on the Quad from 8 to 10 a.m. The fourth marker of the Macon County African American Heritage Trail will be unveiled at 9:30 a.m., followed by a guided historic tour of campus at 10 a.m.
Jazz on the Quad will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., featuring performances by School of Music ensembles.
The Big Blue football team will face Carroll University at 1 p.m. at Frank M. Lindsay Field. Homecoming Court members will be crowned during halftime, with tailgating and pregame activities taking place before kickoff.
Saturday evening will feature additional mixers, performances and social events on campus.
Sunday’s activities include the Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Brunch at 10 a.m. in the University Commons and Hymns Reimagined, hosted by Black Alumni of Millikin, at 11 a.m. in the Hegeler Lobby of the Center for Theatre & Dance.
