September 21, 2026 – The Knights of Columbus’ 57th Annual Tootsie Roll Drive continues in the Decatur area, with local councils collecting donations to support individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Decatur Council 577 will collect donations at Walmart North, 4224 North Prospect Street, Friday and Saturday, September 25th and 26th, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Donations also will be collected at Circle K locations at 201 First Drive, 1685 Baltimore Avenue and 1315 Koester Drive in Forsyth. Collection hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, September 25th, and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, September 26th.
Mt. Zion Council 11582 will collect donations at Walmart East, 4625 East Maryland Street, Thursday and Friday, September 24th and 25th, from 2 to 6 p.m., and Saturday, September 26th, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The council also will collect donations at the Mount Zion High School football game Friday, October 9th, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Donations can also be made by mail or online. Decatur Council 577 says it contributes more than 10-thousand dollars annually to Special Olympics Region I, helping support training, competitions and events for more than 1,400 athletes. Mt. Zion Council 11582 also supports Special Olympics Region I and Mount Zion School District special education programs.
