September 21, 2026 – The Macon County Health Department is reminding residents that flu and COVID-19 vaccinations are available through its walk-in vaccination clinic.
Walk-ins are welcome Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3:30 p.m. Appointments are also available by calling 217-423-6988, option 2.
The Health Department offers several flu vaccine options, including a standard vaccine for those six months and older, an egg-free vaccine for adults 18 and older, and a high-dose vaccine for adults 65 and older.
COVID-19 vaccine options include Pfizer, Moderna and Nuvaxovid, a non-mRNA, protein-based vaccine.
Most insurance is accepted. Residents are encouraged to bring their insurance card and identification when receiving vaccination services.
The Health Department encourages residents to stay up to date with recommended vaccinations during respiratory illness season.
