November 23, 2021 –  Decatur Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe announced the 2021 Decatur Hall of Fame inductees this morning. The two new inductees were Dr. Jeanelle Norman, President of the Decatur branch NAACP, and Kevin Breheny, President at J L Hubbard.

When asked what the community needs to do going forward in order to follow in the footsteps of himself and Dr. Norman, Kevin Breheny said, “I learned from people that were in their 60’s when I was young, in my 20’s and 30’s. I think the next generation needs to take the baton and keep not only the country, but keep the community going, and I think they will.”

Responding to what it meant to become part of the Decatur Hall of Fame, Dr. Norman said, “It represents the lifelong work that has been done in the community and someone has recognized it. When you’re working, you don’t expect your work to be recognized but when it happens, it’s a great thing.”

The Decatur Hall of Fame honors individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to our community, and the two new members will also be honored with a plaque located inside of the Civic Center.
