January 10, 2022 – As COVID-19 numbers increase across the community and the state of Illinois as a whole, the Illinois Department of Public Health and other companies such as Apple have implemented ways to more easily access proof of your vaccination status.
IDPH launched an online “Vax Verify” system back in August of 2021 to better allow Illinois residents to view their vaccination status from the push of a button. For more information on how to access “Vax Verify”, click here.
Just a few months later, Apple introduced iOS 15, which allows iPhone users to access their vaccination status at the click of a button.
Chicago and other large cities that entice tourists are now asking for proof of vaccination to enter indoor public areas. This effect began on January 3.
Within the last couple of months, with Apple’s new iOS 15 download, iPhone users have the capacity of adding their vaccination card to their Apple Wallet. For more information on how to add it to your Wallet, click here.
Although it still may not feel like life pre-COVID, these simple technological advances can make our lives easier.
