February 22, 2022 – The State’s mask mandate is set to be lifted next week, but Governor JB Pritzker says communities and businesses can impose their own mitigations if necessary.
Masks will no longer be required in most indoor places starting Monday says the Governor. This applies statewide.
“It does appear things are getting much better, and so I think February 28th, the date that we had chosen, seems like a great date for everybody to follow suit. But I will add that there are local governments that have imposed stricter mitigations and they’re welcome to do so if they feel like in their local area,” said Pritzker.
The governor says private businesses can enact their own requirements as well.
