October 28, 2020 – Today, Millikin University announced a new initiative called the “Macon Promise.”  Millikin is reducing undergraduate tuition to $26,000 for students who live or go to school in Macon County.  The $26,000 tuition rate will remain the same for up to four years of study at Millikin.  The Macon Promise applies to students who live in Macon County or those who currently attend or previously attended high school in Macon County.  The offer is also extended to students who attended Cerro Gordo as well as Central A&M high schools, and any transfers from Richland Community College.  Those who transfer from Richland are eligible, regardless of their residency.

“Macon County students are extremely important to Millikin, and to the greater Decatur community.  We know that especially now, during the pandemic, students want the ability to anticipate college costs. Millikin wanted to enable them to do that, not just next year, but for four years of college.”  said Sarah Shupenus, Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing at Millikin University.  “The Macon Promise $26,000 tuition rate for students who live or go to school in Macon County is an unprecedented tuition reduction exclusively for Macon County students.  With approximately 8,000 Millikin alumni in our area, our investment in Macon County students just makes sense.“

Millikin is also implementing a 0% tuition increase for the 2021-22 academic year.
