Morgan Wallen's backlash over the video of him making a racial slur continues with the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association weighing in. Both organizations commented on the situation and expressed their disapproval, with the ACMs taking it one step further to make him ineligible for award nominations this year.

In a tweet the ACMs stated, “The Academy of Country Music will halt Morgan Wallen's potential involvement and eligibility for this year's 56th Academy of Country Music Awards cycle. We have made his management team aware of this decision. The Academy does not condone or support intolerance or behavior that doesn't align with our commitment and dedication to diversity and inclusion . . . As a result of this unprecedented situation, the Academy will be reviewing our awards eligibility and submission process, ensuring our nominees consistently reflect the Academy's integrity.”

The Country Music Association followed up by tweeting, “In light of Morgan Wallen's recent use of a racial slur, CMA is removing his digital content from our platforms. We support our Country Music partners for taking swift action. We will confer further with our Board of Directors to review additional measures and will continue to examine our industry's inclusivity efforts.”

The video of Morgan using the N-word surfaced on TMZ on Tuesday (Feb. 2nd) night. It was reportedly recorded via his neighbor's exterior camera.
