October 8, 2021– Large donations from community members, companies, and organizations have pushed the WSOY Community Food Drive to raise $413,671, which equates to 2,177,216 pounds of food, by the halfway mark.

The midpoint total was boosted thanks to generous donations from Millikin University, ADM, Hickory Point Bank, Kroger, First Mid Bank and Trust, West Bend Insurance and Neuhoff Media.

But the Food Drive isn’t over yet.  The funds raised will go to support nearly all of the Food Banks in Macon County.  Organizers say the need is even greater this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, with many families seeking assistance for the first time.

The food drive will run until 6 pm.  To give to the WSOY Community Food drive, you can give online HERE, drive through the Kroger on Rt 36 from 6 am to 6 pm, or call 875-3350 to make your donation online. Donations are tax-deductible.
