May 24, 2022 – The African-American Cultural Genealogical Society will be hosting a Juneteenth Freedom Day Celebration on June 18. The Juneteenth March will start at 10:40 a.m. on the west side of the courthouse parking lot and the Freedom Day Celebration will be from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in downtown Central Park.
Visitors can take a Rosa Park tribute ride from central park to the museum on the Decatur Trolley as tours of the museum are free during the celebration.
Special guests include La “Sonja” Chargois, and Bishop James Wills, Sr. with guest Host, Terrence “TAT” Taylor, and a performance by Jerry Jones & The Fantastic Jones Family. You don’t want to miss the celebration with area music artists & entertainment, giveaways, vendors, food, fun & culture!
