January 5, 2023 – Next week, Richland Community College’s Adult Education Program will be holding orientations for its free GED and English as a Second Language (ESL) programs.

For GED program orientation, there are spots open on Wednesday, January 11 and Thursday, January 12. With ESL classes, orientation spots are open Monday and Tuesday, January 9-10, and Thursday and Saturday, January 12 and 14.

The GED classes meet 3-4 days a week over an 8-week session. These courses help students prepare for the GED test’s 4 subjects: Reasoning Through Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Science, and Social Studies.

The ESL courses help students improve their English speaking, reading, and writing skills for academic or employment purposes. Classes for both programs are held on campus or at the Decatur Public Library. They will begin the week of Tuesday, January 17, 2023.

Orientations are required for all new students. To reserve a spot, visit this link or call 217-875-7211, Ext. 6355. Reservations are recommended but not required.
