October 23, 2026 – The Decatur Family YMCA has selected Allison Buzick as its next chief executive officer following a nationwide search that began in May. Buzick is tentatively scheduled to begin the position November 18, 2026.

The YMCA’s CEO Search Committee worked with Y-USA and the Illinois State Alliance of YMCAs to conduct the search, which attracted 27 applicants. After interviews and evaluations, the Board of Directors selected Buzick for the position.

Originally from Central Illinois, Buzick brings more than 11 years of YMCA leadership experience. Her background includes branch operations, financial management, membership development, youth development, staff leadership, fundraising, community partnerships and marketing.

She currently serves as interim executive director of the Punta Gorda YMCA in Florida while continuing her association-wide role as director of marketing for the YMCA of Southwest Florida.

“We are excited to welcome Allison to Decatur and look forward to the experience, leadership, and vision she will bring to our organization,” said Scott Rosenbery, board chair of the Decatur Family YMCA. “We look forward to building on the Decatur Family YMCA’s strong foundation and continuing to make a positive impact on our members and the greater Decatur community.”

The YMCA plans to host a meet-and-greet after Buzick arrives in Decatur, giving members and community residents an opportunity to meet her. Details will be announced at a later date.

The Board of Directors also thanked Matt Noonan and Angela Foulke, who have served as co-interim CEOs during the leadership transition. The organization credited both with providing stability and continuity and recognized their dedication and leadership during the search process.
