“As a community partner, Richland is excited to host this effort to provide employment opportunities to former Akorn employees,” said Richland Community College President Cris Valdez. “We will continue to serve everyone in our community – whether they are affected by the closure or are generally looking for new opportunities.”
IDOC Director Rob Jeffreys said, “When we heard of the unfortunate closure of the Akorn facility and the number of family members impacted, we immediately began to brainstorm how we could help and at the same time open up our pool of applicants to fill vacancies in the immediate area. We appreciate the willingness of Richland to allow us to utilize their campus to provide opportunities to those seeking employment.”
