April 10, 2024 – Ancient Athletics’ will host the Third Annual D-Town Throwdown Highland Games on April 27th.
The D-Town Throwdown Highland Games will be held April 27that the Decatur Hotel and Conference Center and will feature competitions based in traditions dating back to the eleventh century and perhaps even earlier.
Individual events will include the Stone Put, an event similar to the modern-day shot put, the Caber Toss, Scottish Hammer Throw, Weight Over Bar, Sheaf Toss, and Weight Throw.
The event will also include Celtic dancers, and pipes and drums.
Spectators are free.
The event is sponsored by Ancient Athletics and the St Andrews Society of Central Illinois.
