May 7, 2024 – Employers, administrators, and relatives of DPS 61 students were in attendance at the Keil Building Tuesday as students signed their certificates of acceptance to employment programs upon successful completion of the Career Pathway and innovative programs.
The programs partners with Richland Community College and employers such as Caterpillar, HSHS St. Mary’s, Decatur Memorial Hospital, the IBEW, ADM and more to provide on-the-job training and internships. These internships lead to full-time pay, benefits, options for healthcare, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Anunciata Burns (MHS) – Elementary Education through RCC EnRich Program

Khaliyah Bass (MHS) – Radiology Technician through RCC EnRich Program

In addition, on Monday, 58 students were recognized for joining the fourth cohort of the DPS61 Prep Academy Program.
