January 13, 2026 – The Decatur Family YMCA is hosting a youth 2Ball competition on Saturday January 17th.

The competition is open to young athletes ages 7-14. This fast-paced event challenges two-person teams to rack up the most points by shooting from designated spots on the court in just 60 seconds. The stakes are high, as top teams in the state for each age group will advance to the IHSA State Finals. Last year, Decatur had a team not only qualify for State, they WON the championship.

The competition will take place at the Decatur YMCA gymnasium, with age-specific time slots for – 9U , 10U, 12U,  14U (high school students are not eligible to compete due to IHSA rules.)
Each team consists of two players of the same gender, and participants must meet the age requirements as of the championship game date.
“This event is a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to showcase their skills, have fun, and connect with their community,” said Dominic Santomassimo, CEO. “We are thrilled to host this competition and cheer on the participants as they aim for the state finals.”
