April 28, 2026 – A new community-focused event aimed at strengthening relationships and mentorship among men is coming to Decatur May 1–2.

“The Locker Room,” a free two-day experience presented by The INC Spot and Northeast Community Fund, will feature conversations, activities and events centered on fatherhood, personal growth and building legacy. While the weekend highlights the father-son relationship, organizers say it is open to all men, including mentors, coaches, grandfathers and young men seeking guidance.

A special guest appearance is planned by former University of Illinois standout and Super Bowl champion Tavon Wilson, who will participate in weekend activities and discussions.

The event begins Friday evening with “Cuts & Conversations” at The INC Spot on West Eldorado Street. The barbershop-style gathering is designed to create space for open dialogue around life, faith, responsibility and success.

Activities continue Saturday with a Fathers and Sons Excellence Brunch at the Decatur Conference Center and Hotel. The brunch will include keynote remarks, recognition of mentorship and a focus on building strong community connections.

The weekend wraps up with a Father-Son Basketball Game Saturday evening at Skywalker Sports Complex, offering a high-energy, interactive experience for participants. Organizers note that attendees do not need to come as a father-son pair and can participate individually or with a mentor or mentee.

Organizers say the goal of The Locker Room is to create meaningful connections and encourage men of all ages to invest in one another and their community.

Attendance is free, but registration is required HERE.
