May 6, 2026 – The countdown is on — the 170th annual Macon County Fair is now less than a month away.
The fair is set to run June 1 through June 7 at the Macon County Fairgrounds in Decatur, bringing a full week of family-friendly entertainment, agriculture, and grandstand events to the community.
This year’s fair has been expanded to a full seven days, giving organizers more room to grow the schedule and offer additional attractions for attendees.
Events will kick off with harness racing on opening day, followed by a week that includes the Macon County Fair Queen Pageant, live entertainment, a rodeo, truck and tractor pulls, and a demolition derby to close out the week.
Fair officials say the extended schedule reflects growing attendance and continued interest from the community, with thousands expected to visit throughout the week.
In addition to grandstand events, fairgoers can expect traditional favorites like carnival rides, 4-H exhibits, contests, and a variety of food and activities for all ages.
With opening day quickly approaching, organizers encourage residents to start making plans now and watch for additional announcements on tickets and event details. Click HERE for more.
