HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital celebrated National Nurses Week by recognizing nurses and health care staff for their dedication to patient care and excellence in the nursing profession.

During the May 6-12 observance, the hospital announced the recipients of its 2026 Nursing Exemplar Awards, honoring individuals who demonstrated leadership, teamwork, education, mentorship, and exceptional bedside care.

St. Mary’s President and Chief Administrative Officer Tim Layman said the awards recognize the important role nurses play throughout the hospital.

“These nurses exemplify excellence through their hard work, leadership, teamwork and care,” Layman said. “Whether they are mentoring future nurses, leading teams through challenging moments or providing exceptional bedside care, each of these colleagues makes a lasting impact on our hospital and the patients we serve.”

Nominations for the awards were submitted by colleagues, physicians, leaders, and staff members to recognize those who go above and beyond in their nursing roles.
