June 23, 2026 – The Salvation Army of Decatur is gearing up for a new community tradition with its First Annual Red Kettle Car Show, set for Saturday, July 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 229 W. Main Street.
The family-friendly event will feature a showcase of classic and modern vehicles while raising support for The Salvation Army’s local programs serving individuals and families in need throughout the Decatur area.
Vehicle registration is $20 and begins at 9 a.m. The first 100 registered vehicles will receive a free dash plaque, and participants will have the chance to win door prizes and trophies.
In addition to the car show, attendees can enjoy a variety of attractions including a D-Dirty Burger food truck, vendor booths, a 50/50 raffle, and live DJ entertainment from DJ Jerry-Oke.
Organizers say the event is designed to be welcoming for all ages and will maintain a safe, family-friendly environment.
Community members are also encouraged to support The Salvation Army’s outreach efforts by bringing non-perishable food items or new toys for donation. Contributions will directly benefit local families served by the organization.
“This event is more than just a car show—it’s an opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy a great day, and make a meaningful impact,” a Salvation Army representative said. “Every registration, donation, and contribution helps us continue our work serving those in need.”
