LISTEN: Heart of Illinois Community Foundation and DECU announce $100,000 in EMS funding

May 21, 2024 – Natalie Beck of the Heart of Illinois Community Foundation and Jes Younghouse of Decatur Earthmover Credit Union joined Byers & Co to announce $100,000 in EMS funding as part of their Moving Forward campaign and National EMS Week. Recipients include:

  • $25,000 to establish an endowed EMS scholarship at Richland Community College. Will provide annual scholarship/tuition assistance for individuals pursuing EMS credentials.
  • $24,000 for the Piatt County Sheriff Department for department equipment upgrades
  • $18,000 to Decatur Fire Department for medical training mannequins
  • $6,000 to Blue Mound Police Department toward new squad car
  • $5,000 to Paris, Illinois Police Department for Shop with a Cop and department equipment needs
  • $5,000 to Mt. Zion Fire Department
  • $4,000 to Kirby Ambulance Service
  • $2,500 to Paris Fire Department
  • $2,500 to Argenta-Oreana Fire Department
  • $2,000 to Bement Fire Protection District
  • $2,000 to Blue Mound Fire Department
  • $2,000 to Monticello Fire Department
  • $2,000 to Mid-Piatt Fire Protection District
