January 22, 2026 – The Decatur Community is once again invited to come together in support of Night to Shine, a prom-like experience designed specifically for individuals with developmental disabilities.

The event will take place on Friday, February 13, at GT Church, from approximately 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Night to Shine, organized by Macon Resources and the National Tim Tebow Foundation, is hosted locally by First Christian Church and GT Church. The event provides a safe, welcoming, and festive environment where participants can enjoy music, dancing, and social connection.

Macon Resources says community involvement is essential to making Night to Shine possible. Organizers are currently seeking event sponsors, monetary donations, and volunteers to help support all aspects of the evening. Volunteers are needed in a variety of roles, including event setup, guest support, and general hospitality. Over 250 honored guests are signed up and more “buddies” are needed.

“Night to Shine is only possible because of the generosity of our community,” Pastor Nie Mayberry -from First Christian Church shared. “Whether through giving time, resources, or financial support, every contribution
helps create a night where our honored guests feel celebrated and valued.”

Charity Miller -from GT Church added, “this night is an amazing evening for our community & for those that attend each year. Each donor and volunteer will have the opportunity to make a positive impact.”

President / CEO of MRI, Amy Bliefnick added, “we love that Night to Shine brings love, smiles, & joy to the persons we serve. It is truly an incredible community event because of the over 400 volunteers and supporters along with the churches that do so much to organize the event.”

Those interested in sponsoring, donating, or volunteering are encouraged to reach out for additional information and registration details on Facebook at “Night to Shine -Decatur” for information.
