January 7, 2026-Kroger Co. announced the launch of its Verified Savings Program, a new initiative aimed at expanding access to affordable food by offering discounts to customers who participate in select government assistance programs.

The program provides eligible customers with a 20% discount on fruits and vegetables and a 50% discount on Boost by Kroger Plus memberships. Eligibility is available to recipients of programs such as SNAP, WIC, Medicaid and other qualifying assistance programs. Customers can enroll online through SheerID, a third-party verification service used to confirm eligibility.

According to Kroger, verification is valid for five months, after which customers must reverify to remain enrolled. Once enrolled, the produce discount is automatically applied to qualifying purchases made using a Kroger digital account and Shopper’s Card. The produce discount is valid through January 31, 2026.

Kroger Group Vice President of Fresh Merchandising Carlo Baldan said the program is intended to help make fresh food more affordable and reduce barriers to food access.

Additional details about eligibility, enrollment, and program restrictions are available through Kroger’s website.
