January 7, 2026 – ImpactLife, the nonprofit provider of blood products for both area hospitals, will host two community blood drives in January in partnership with HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital and Warrensburg Latham High School.
HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital will host a community blood drive from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, in the Assisi Room at 1800 East Lake Shore Drive in Decatur. Appointments are requested and can be scheduled by calling ImpactLife Springfield at (800) 747-5401 or by visiting www.bloodcenter.org and using code 60455.
A second blood drive, sponsored by the Warrensburg Latham High School National Honor Society, will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, January 9, on the ImpactLife Donor Bus at 425 North North Street in Warrensburg. Appointments may be scheduled by contacting Stephanie Thien at (217) 672-3531, calling ImpactLife at (800) 747-5401, or visiting www.bloodcenter.org and using code 60831.
To be eligible to donate, individuals must be at least 17 years old, or 16 with a parental permission form available through ImpactLife, weigh more than 110 pounds, and present a photo ID. Donors who last gave blood on or before November 26, 2025, are eligible for the Decatur drive, while those who last donated on or before November 14, 2025, are eligible for the Warrensburg drive. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure may also be eligible to donate.
Blood donation typically takes between 45 minutes and one hour. Successful donors will receive an ImpactLife Donor Reward, which may include an e-gift card, a charitable donation, or bonus points for the online Donor Rewards Store.
