February 1, 2026 – After the success of Eisenhower High School’s popcorn creation for the Kroger store in aiport plaza, The Mt Zion Braves have created their own mix.

The route 36 location was the first Kroger popcorn stand to open in Illinois, following the concept’s launch in Indiana. Since then, the stand has risen to number one in sales across the division, which includes Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, and Missouri.

As part of a community partnership, Mt Zion teachers Taryn Bland and Kendra Abner, along with Mt Zion students Bellamie Rhoades, Abby Haubner, and Ty Ball were invited to create a custom popcorn blend for the Braves. The chose the flavors of Churro, Toffee, and White cheddar and named it the “Braves Bundle.”

Eisenhower High School created their own mix in January called “Panther Spice,” a nod to the school’s mascot and the bold, savory flavor profile.

Kroger says both the Braves Bundle and Panther Spice will be available for purchase at the route 36 location.

Pricing includes $4 for a medium container,  and $7 for a large.
