February 4, 2026 -Mt. Zion High School will host a community blood drive in partnership with ImpactLife on Thursday, Feb. 19, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The blood drive will take place in the school’s small gym, located at 305 S. Henderson Street in Mt. Zion. The event is sponsored by MEDICS.
ImpactLife serves as the primary provider of blood components for local hospitals and emergency medical services in the region. Community members are encouraged to participate to help maintain an adequate blood supply.
Appointments are requested. Those interested in donating may contact Neysa Downs at 217-864-2363 or schedule an appointment online at bloodcenter.org using the drive code 60787. Appointments may also be made by calling ImpactLife directly at 800-747-5401.
Eligible donors must be at least 17 years old, or 16 with a parental permission form available online, and must weigh at least 110 pounds. A photo ID is required. Individuals who last donated blood on or before Dec. 25, 2025, are eligible to donate at this drive. Questions regarding eligibility may be directed to ImpactLife.
Blood donation typically takes between 45 minutes and one hour. According to ImpactLife, individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure may still qualify to donate.
ImpactLife is a nonprofit community blood center providing blood products and services to both Decatur area hospitals.
