March 22, 2026– The fifth annual D-Town Throwdown Highland Games will take place Saturday, April 25, at Horace B. Garman Park, marking a new location for the event.
The competition, held rain or shine, will feature athletes from across the country competing in traditional Scottish and Celtic events. Organizers say the games typically draw 60 to 70 competitors along with their families, and the event is free for spectators.
The games are organized by Ancient Athletics, a program of the St. Andrew’s Society of Central Illinois, which promotes Celtic culture through athletic events and community engagement. Athletes of all ages and experience levels are encouraged to participate.
Athlete check-in begins at 8:30 a.m., with competition starting at 9:30 a.m.
Organizers are also seeking sponsors, vendors and volunteers. More information, including registration details, is available at AncientAthletics.com.
