April 6, 2026— Millikin University will host a new campus and community event, “Milli-Fest,” April 17 and 18.
The free, public event will feature a weekend of activities designed for all ages, bringing together students, families, alumni and community members.
Organizers say the event builds on past campus traditions while introducing new experiences aimed at strengthening connections between the university and the Decatur community.
The weekend begins Friday, April 17, from 6 to 9 p.m. with a kickoff on the campus quad, featuring lawn games, food trucks and an outdoor showing of the Disney film “Monsters University.”
The main community celebration will take place Saturday, April 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a vendor market, food trucks, inflatables, family-friendly games and a “Touch-a-Truck” experience with emergency and service vehicles.
Saturday evening will include a separate student-focused event with entertainment and activities geared toward college-aged participants.
University officials say the event is organized by students as part of a course, providing hands-on experience in event planning while offering a new opportunity for community engagement.
