April 13, 2026 — The Decatur Family YMCA is joining organizations across the country for a weeklong campaign focused on child safety and abuse prevention.
The Five Days of Action campaign runs April 13 through 17 and aims to raise awareness and encourage adults to take steps to protect children, with a special emphasis this year on digital safety.
Throughout the week, the local YMCA will share resources and provide education to help parents and caregivers better understand online risks and how to create safer environments for children.
The campaign also encourages adults to recognize warning signs of abuse, have open conversations with children, and access available safety tools.
Organizers say protecting children is a shared responsibility and are urging community members to participate and stay informed.
