April 28, 2026 – Collectors and bargain hunters alike have a chance to score unique items as the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office launches its latest ICash online auction, running now through May 3.

The auction, overseen by State Treasurer Michael Frerichs, includes a wide variety of items from unclaimed property, ranging from rare coins and gold pieces to collectible sports memorabilia. Among the featured items are trading cards of Hall of Fame baseball players Ryne Sandberg, Ken Griffey Jr. and Nolan Ryan, along with a gold ingot and an 1868 French coin depicting Napoleon III.

“Our online auction offers something unique and memorable for everyone,” Frerichs said. “You’ll discover treasures, such as classic baseball cards and distinctive currency, along with vintage jewelry and other items made of gold.”

Additional items up for bid include a gold commemorative medal honoring Mark Twain, multiple silver bars and coins, vintage pocket watches, and gold jewelry. In total, about 150 lots will be available, with some lots featuring multiple items.

Interested bidders can view the full catalog and register through the HiBid platform at or create an account HERE.

The Treasurer’s Office conducts these auctions periodically to manage unclaimed property items that have gone untouched for years. Proceeds from the auction are held indefinitely for the rightful owners, who can claim them at any time.

Officials say about one in four Illinois residents who search the state’s ICash database finds unclaimed money. Residents can check for funds HERE .
