Macon County Health Department offers clinics ahead of October 15 school health deadline

September 30, 2026 – Families who still need to complete school physicals, immunizations or lead testing have upcoming opportunities at the Macon County Health Department.

Illinois requires proof of physical exams and immunizations for students entering Pre-K, kindergarten, sixth grade, ninth grade or who are new to a school district.

Children age seven and younger must also have a lead screening included with their physical.The deadline for submitting required documentation to schools is October 15th.

The Macon County Health Department will offer clinics October 1st, 6th and 13th at its location at 1221 East Condit Street in Decatur.

Physicals will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Immunizations and lead testing will be offered from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3:30 p.m.
