October 7, 2026 – The Hieronymus Mueller Museum in Decatur will offer free admission Saturday, October 10th, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Visitors can explore the history of Hieronymus Mueller, the German immigrant who founded the company that became a major name in water and gas infrastructure. The museum features his personal hand tools, a replica foundry and a cutaway fire hydrant where visitors can see how the equipment works.

Saturday’s event will also feature a scavenger hunt, with a small prize for visitors who find a designated artifact hidden in the gallery.

Two temporary exhibits are also on display, featuring Mueller Company items from the 1980s and 1990s and an original 1920s Frank B. Hoffman oil painting that was once used in a national Saturday Evening Post advertising campaign.

The museum is located at 420 West Eldorado Street and offers free parking.
