Fourth of July as brought to you by the Decatur Parks District

June 30, 2022 – Independence Day in Decatur will be full of a ton of great activities for the entire family thanks to the Decatur Park District.

Take a look below for just a few of the numerous activities:

  • Staley Run, White and Blue: The Route begins at Overlook Adventure Park. The half-mile tot trot begins at 7:30 a.m. The other two events start at 8:00 a.m. Compete in a re-formatted half-mile kids run, 5k run, or join in the two-mile fun run/walk. Race Day, registration is available, or register online here. Online registration by July 3 is $5 cheaper. Registration includes admission to Splash Cove from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
  • Scovill Zoo: Free carousel rides with paid admission. Open from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Overlook Adventure Park: $6 per person for one round of mini-golf and $13 per person for a three-activity adventure pass. Open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Splash Cove: Open swim from 12:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Adults are $10.50 while youth and seniors are $8.50
  • Pump Track: Located at Nelson Park and Devon Lakeshore Amphitheater. Open from 4:00 p.m. to dusk. Come visit with Park Police Officers from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
  • Music at the Devon: Musical Group Imagine That will be performing at 6:00 p.m.
