July 15, 2022- Two hundred golfers endured the rain, as they participated in The Support Local Golf Outing, held at Red Tail Run.
The first wave of golfers took to the green at 8 am, with the second following at 1 pm. The brief intermission between tee times brought everyone together for a lunch provided by Heinkels, which included cookies and refreshments, courtesy of Nave’s Noshery.
Following the lunch break, the Macon County Honor Guard presented the American flag as Y103’s Shyler sang the National Anthem.
The Support Local Organization of Macon County hosted the outing, and raises funds for a variety of local causes. All proceeds raised from the golf outing will be pledged for local organizations to implement within their programs.
One of the causes highlighted today was #RaiderStrong, which is in honor of four Central A&M students involved in an automobile accident earlier this week. Two of the boys have unfortunately passed away. The other two are still being treated for their injuries sustained from the accident.
Bracelets with the hashtag were sold at the outing in support of the families of the boys.
Donations are also being accepted at several locations including Ayars Bank (Moweaqua, IL), First National Bank of Assumption, Subway (Assumption, IL), The ManCave Barber Shop (Macon, IL), Moweaqua Foods (Moweaqua, IL), and MoMo’s Fro-Yo (Shelbyville, IL).
