December 18, 2022 – The Decatur Police Department will hold their title of most funds raised for the Salvation Army for this year’s Guns and Hoses event while also helping families in need.
Law Enforcement and first responders from Decatur Police, Macon County Sheriff’s office, Decatur Fire Department, and County Fire all competed in a friendly bell ringing competition to benefit the Salvation Army on December 9-10. The teams were stationed outside of both Walmart locations and Sams club.
In all, the effort raised nearly $18,000 which was then matched by a generous donation.

- Decatur Fire – $5,577.36
- Macon County Sherif – $2,985.69
- County Fire – $2,509.08
