February 15, 2023 -Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski has beenappointed to three key subcommittees on the House Committee on Agriculture.
In the 118th Congress, Budzinski will serve on the Subcommittee on General Farm Commodities, Risk Management and Credit, the Subcommittee on Conservation, Research and Biotechnology and the Subcommittee on Commodity Markets, Digital Assets and Rural Development.
Budzinski says her roles will be focused on giving Central and Southern Illinois family farmers a strong seat at the table during negotiations for the upcoming Farm Bill. She adds she want to focus on revitalizing rural communities, protecting the farm safety net, maintaining critical nutrition programs and investing in conservation programs.
“As a native of Downstate Illinois, I know just how important agriculture is to the economic health of our state and our communities,” said Congresswoman Budzinski. “I’m excited to be serving on the House Committee on Agriculture as we develop the next Farm Bill – I’m honored to have a seat on three important subcommittees to bring the voices of family farmers in Central and Southern Illinois to the table.”
