November 6, 2025-Millikin University’s School of Music will present its 2025–26 Faculty Recital Series, featuring three performances that showcase the talents of Millikin’s music faculty.
Each recital will take place at 4 p.m. in Kaeuper Hall, located inside Perkinson Music Center on Millikin’s campus. All events are free and open to the public.
Faculty Recital Schedule
Sunday, Nov. 16 – “Impressions and Visions: A Piano Recital of Tone Poems”
Featuring Dr. Jun Hong “Ivan” Jiang, piano
Dr. Jiang will perform works by Romantic and early 20th-century composers known for their expressive, story-like music.
Sunday, Feb. 22 – “The Metamorphosis: Trumpet Through the Ages”
Featuring Dr. Chun Kong “Apollo” Lee, trumpet, with Dr. Ivan Jiang, piano
This concert will explore the trumpet’s development from the Baroque period to the present day.
Sunday, Apr. 19 – “Kenopsia: An Exploration of Memory Through Music”
Featuring Prof. Emily Venturella, soprano, with special guest Felipe Hoyos-González and the Huitaca Ensemble
The series will conclude with selections from the group’s debut album Kenopsia, which focuses on memory and sound.
