Decatur City Council To Discuss Options for Re-opening Bars and Restaurants

January 10, 2021 –Monday night, the Decatur City Council will discuss the possibility of allowing bars and restaurants to re-open with some public health restrictions. The issue will be discussed in study session of tonight’s special City Council meeting.  According to the agenda, the council will discuss” options for opening bars and/or restaurants closed by the Governors office”. In an attached memo, options MAY include operating at 25% capacity, limiting the number of people at tables, mask guidance as well as similar measures adopted by the City of Springfield. The City Council also plans to discuss additional temporary measures to provide relief to businesses such as waiving certain permits, suspending all or some parking fines, and additional opportunities for food truck businesses. The council will also discuss options for allocating the second round of CARES funding.
