September 14, 2025 – Caterpillar Inc. celebrated its 100th anniversary and the 70th anniversary of its Decatur facility with a Family Day event Saturday.

Held at the Decatur plant, the celebration featured games, face painting, balloon animals, and equipment rides with trained operators. Attendees also enjoyed food and vendors.

As part of the celebration, Caterpillar unveiled two new permanent equipment displays: a 994 large wheel loader and a 657 wheel tractor scraper—both built in Decatur.

“We are very happy and very proud of the legacy of the people who came before us. It’s a matter of great pride and humility for me and the entire 3,000 people here in Decatur.” said Gaurav Pareek, the Sr. Director of Manufacturing Operations.

The event recognized the company’s century-long history and decades of local impact, while thanking employees and their families for their ongoing contributions.
