October 15, 2025 – The Decatur Public Library will transform into an interactive historical adventure as it welcomes Live History for a special three-day escape room experience celebrating the library’s 150th anniversary.
Live History (www.livehistoryshows.com), a Governor General’s Award-nominated theatre company, specializes in bringing local history to life through immersive, customizable performances. The company has captivated audiences across international venues in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Bermuda, England, Wales, and Ireland.
“Live History provides a unique way to showcase the library’s history,” said Rick Meyer, City Librarian. “We haven’t had a program like this before, and we’re excited to share our history with patrons through this one-of-a-kind experience.”
Participants will choose their own path through the library’s past, completing missions, solving clues, and interacting with historic characters. Each session accommodates small groups and lasts one hour, with new groups starting every 15 minutes. The final group will be admitted one hour before the library closes each day.
Registration is required for preferred date and time slots. Visit www.decaturlibrary.org to secure your spot in this limited-time historical adventure.
