October 26, 2025 –The Decatur Indoor Sports Center (DISC) celebrated its 25th anniversary on Saturday with a community event held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The celebration featured a variety of activities for all ages, including zombie laser tag, cosmic climb, roller skating, food offerings, and fitness center activities.

Attendees had the opportunity to visit different areas of the facility, collecting signatures from each station. Participants who completed the activity received early access to the upcoming “Trees on the Tees” event.

“Everybody’s coming together, we got 40 or 50 staff here and everybody’s helping everybody out. You can see all the smiles on all the faces, all the kids are coming in. We want to show off what we have here…..Maybe some people don’t know we have a rock wall, or that we offer laser tag, or bubble ball birthday parties, or roller skating. So, it’s good for us to kind of show all of the things we can do for the community.”, said Decatur Indoor Sports Center Manager Colin Bonner.

The anniversary celebration highlighted the DISC’s role as a community recreation hub since its opening in 2000. The facility, operated by the Decatur Park District, offers a range of programs in fitness, wellness, and sports throughout the year.
