November 11, 2025 -The Decatur Public Library will host #1 New York Times bestselling author Aaron Reynolds on Saturday, November 15, as part of the library’s 150th anniversary celebration. The event will take place in the Madden Auditorium and is free and open to the public.
Two author presentations are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., with book signings following each session. The first 50 families in line at each presentation will receive a free copy of one of Reynolds’ books: Creepy Carrot, Creepy Crayon, or Creepy Pair of Underwear (one book per family).
Books will also be available for purchase through local bookstore Novel Ideas, located in the outer lobby of the library.
Reynolds is the author of several popular children’s titles, including The Incredibly Dead Pets of Rex Dexter and the Fart Quest series. He lives in Chicago and frequently visits schools to engage young readers.
The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Decatur Public Library and the Decatur Public Library Foundation.
