April 30th, 2020- Governor JB Pritzker says the new facial covering requirement taking effect Friday should not be a problem for those who concealed carry.

Under State Law, it’s a class four felony to carry a weapon while your face is covered. But the Governor says they’ve made allowances for those legally carrying.

Pritzker said, “We’ve allowed the state police to set some guidelines here and it doesn’t prohibit people from concealed and carry the rule that we’ve put in place would not.”

The Illinois State Police says the order was not intended to negatively impact permit holders or suggest that local law enforcement should arrest someone with a COVID-19 mask who is carrying.
