March 3, 2022 – The Decatur Regional Chamber of Commerce, along with a delegation of business leaders, attended Chamber Day hosted by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce and the Illinois Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (IACCE) in Springfield March 2nd.
The group heard from several presenters including Speaker of the House Chris Welch, and House Republican Leader Jim Durkin. Both spoke about the budget, the recent crime bill that was passed, and their differing views. They also heard from Jim Kaitschuck of the Illinois Sheriffs Association on public safety in our communities and the need to support law enforcement.
“It was an informative conference, everyone who attended found value and gained knowledge beyond their respective field of business,” said Mirinda Rothrock, Chamber President.
Chamber Day allowed business leaders to learn more about legislation that affects their business, the opportunity for a face-to-face meeting and Q & A with our Leaders in the Illinois House of Representatives.
