One year in the pandemic and nothing has changed in terms of Americans panic buying essential goods. A new study found that the pandemic has also changed our shopping habits moving forward.
60% say 2020 forever affected their budget and how they spend their money. Those Americans increased their spending on groceries, self-care products, and takeout. They decreased spending on things like movies, video games, clothes, and entertainment.
As far as panic buying on, nearly half started doing so at the beginning of the pandemic. The most common items they panic bought were toilet paper, cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer, and paper towels.
48% of those survey have eased up on panic buying, while 14% are still in that mode.
