
August 3, 2021 – New COVID-19 cases in Illinois have hit the highest daily total since early May.
The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 2,682 new and probable cases, a level not seen since May seventh. More people have been getting tested and vaccinations have been increasing as well over the past week. Monday, Governor Pritzker repeated his call for people to be cautious.
Nearly 59% of the Illinois population age 12 and up is now fully vaccinated. All but seven counties are currently at “substantial” or “high” levels of virus transmission.
