March 10, 2020 – With cases of Coronavirus spiking across the globe, many travelers are thinking about canceling or postponing their trips.  But even with travel insurance, you may be out of luck.  According to Schengen Visa Info, most travel insurance policies do not cover trip cancellations due to epidemics and pandemics Linda Roberts of Best Trips Ever says it’s important to read the fine print of your policy to inform yourself of exclusions. Roberts says there are some companies that have “cancel for any reason policies”, however, those usually cost up to 60% more than usual policies.  Roberts says the best thing to do before canceling any plans is to call your travel agent to find out about possible cancellation fees or rescheduling policies.  Your trip may not be refunded, but many major airlines such as Delta and United are waiving cancellation fees and change fees up to a certain date due to the Coronavirus.
